Built on family and pure dedication
T Island Cafe began in 2010 as a heartfelt dream shared by a husband and wife. After successfully operating restaurants on Hull Street in Richmond, Virginia, and later expanding to Marietta, Georgia, their passion for cooking grew into something even more meaningful. Following the husband’s passing in 2020, The wife chef transformed the business into a vibrant mobile kitchen in return back to Richmond, Virginia in 2022 allowing her to spend more time with family while continuing to share the passion in love for cooking good food and love they built together.
Today, she brings T Island Cafe directly to the community, serving each customer with the same warmth, passion, and authentic flavor that have always defined the business. Old-school at heart, she personally prepares every dish, believing that time-honored methods—slow-simmering pots, carefully layered spices, and homemade recipes—are what make the flavors unforgettable. Everything we prepare is rooted in family tradition and a commitment to authentic island cuisine that keeps our community coming back for more. It's the heart of Jamaican and soul food cuisines.

We also take immense pride in our crowd-favorite honey jerk chicken and our crispy honey Old Bay fried catfish.
